The California Consumer Privacy Act & its Effect on the US Privacy Landscape
Tony is pleased to be asked by Harvey Nusz, Enterprise Architect and Manager, Privacy and Encryption, Capgemini to join him in discussing privacy policies from the customer’s view point.
This interactive session will focus on the California Consumer Privacy Act going into effect 01/01/2020, and any changes that occurred since its unanimous passing. The presenter will discuss: Key parts of GDPR and the NYDFS regulation; NISTS’s efforts for a Privacy Framework and what that entails; The current efforts toward a national federal privacy law; and Key parts from other international privacy laws. The presenter will identify how to comply with Article 25, Privacy by Design to achieve Privacy by Default and the NYDFS regulation. After the session, attendees will leave with the knowledges to think about and consider how to implement Compliance on Demand, and how Privacy by Design, encryption and key management, and automating data subjects’ rights fits into compliance on demand and combines to not only go far toward compliance, but also earn the trust of your customers, and differentiate your company from your competition.
Harvey Nusz has enabled companies to become compliant and secure in Sox, PCI-DSS, FISMA, HIPAA, NY Department of Financial Services CRR500 Cybersecurity Regulation, and Privacy Shield, and he is now focusing on the California Consumer Privacy Act, the NYDFS regulation, the EU GDPR and other major privacy laws and efforts. Harvey started working on GDPR in August, 2015, and has managed a project to enable a company to achieve Privacy Shield compliance. He is focusing now on privacy, compliance, and security, and has also previously focused in auditing, risk management, governance, IT Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity, Identity Access Management and Access Certification, and Security Architecture. Technically, he is focusing now on the use of encryption and key management to provide protection under Article 25 of the EU GDPR, Privacy by Design to achieve Privacy by Default, in the event of a breach, and in providing appropriate controls over data subjects rights to be transparent and to prevent fines. Harvey has his CIPM, CISSP, CRISC, CGEIT, and CISA.
Tony Belilovskiy is the Executive Director of the International Institute for Customer-Centered Leadership (IICCL) and C3 Strategic Advisor. His diverse expertise includes operational excellence, project management training and coaching, culture change management, engineering in metallurgy, ballistics, licensed clinician, healthcare administration, auditor, healthcare consulting, entrepreneurial business ownership, statistician and conference speaker. Tony holds both Bachelors in Cardiopulmonary Sciences and Masters in Healthcare Management and Administration from Northeastern University in Boston, MA; Associates Degree in Metallurgy from Odessa Polytechnic Institute in Odessa, Ukraine.
